In an attempt to track down the folks looking for Spritle (and coincidentally make 200k)
Morgaine was very nearly drop shipped to Aztlan in a suborbital...a highly unpleasant
prospect to say the very least. (Rule #4: Never go ANYWHERE without some kind of
backup)
Final status...Sparky: ICU; Everyone else OK.
3/27-3/29/55
On the September 2nd session we learned that Spritle (or Ulysses if you prefer) was born
as the result of some dark 'blood magic' ritual ('ala Rosemary's Baby). Through
some judicious questioning of sources (and a level 9 astral quest) we've figured out
that this child is the actual embodiment of the splintered DFTZ city spirit.
This supposedly explains why certain aspects of the city have been trying to kill
or capture the kid. 3/30/55
In a meet that firmly defined rule #3 (Never go to a meet without magical backup),
Shadow & Sparky were ambushed by Feather (an Aztlan initiate) and his ally (a feathered
serpent). Shadow got extremely lucky and Sparky got kidnapped. 3/31/55
The Sept 16th gaming session didn't do too much for ol' Sparky, who remains kidnapped. Morgaine
repeated her 'stupid human trick' to quote Mike, and masked as Spritle again... this time
getting into a magic showdown with Smoke at the UCAS/Aztlan border crossing
(fortunately this landed her, still looking like Spritle, in the UCAS jail).
Further attempts at finding someone locally who can shed some more light on what options
we have with respect to Spritle haven't been terribly helpful. Looking outside seems our
best shot at this point, so Legion, Morgaine, and Spritle are going to be catching a sub-orbital
to Germany to speak to the Daughters of the Moon. If this doesn't work, maybe
we can just sell the kid off for parts... Darkheart would certainly be thrilled. 4/01/55
So who says that getting decapitated has to be fatal? (Not to be too harsh on Sparky and
despite some truly excellent rolls by Doc, I think that the necromantic nature of Sparky's
decapitation probably would have precluded any sort of revival...magic based on consumption
of spirit energy and all that). In the meantime some other mage (ie not Feather) has flown
off with Spritle...it keeps getting better, but we now have rule #5 "Don't let the rigger get
out of the car"
